How Does Microblading Work?
Microblading is the process of tattooing the eyebrows to fill in areas that are bare or thinning. It’s administered by trained aestheticians or makeup artists to ensure that the results are precise and natural-looking.
Before Microblading
At the start of your microblading session, you’ll work with your aesthetician to determine the shape and color of the brows that you desire. Then, a numbing cream is applied to the area to minimize discomfort while you’re being treated.
During Microblading
During microblading, your aesthetician will use a pigment that matches the natural color of your brows to make hair-like strokes. These small strokes fill in sparse areas and create the desired shape of your brows.
After Microblading
Immediately after your microblading session, you’ll see some improvement in the appearance of your brows, but there will be redness and swelling. As the area heals, you’ll be able to see the full results of the treatment.
In the three to six weeks after microblading, the pigment will fade 30% to 50%. We recommend a touch-up treatment six to eight weeks after the procedure to redefine the brows. After this session, most patients only need to return for annual touch-ups.
