Turn Back the Clock with Microneedling

MicroneedingWhen you look in the mirror, do you see tired and aging skin? The body’s aging process takes a toll on the skin, with diminished collagen production and slowed skin cell turnover often causing a dull, uneven, and wrinkled complexion. Luckily, microneedling is an FDA-approved treatment that can offset the aging process to help you regain glowing skin.

How Microneedling Is Used to Combat the Aging Process

Microneedling stimulates the skin’s natural process of regeneration to replace damaged skin with healthy tissue. This treatment provides a noticeable improvement to signs of aging, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sagging skin
  • Sun damage
  • Enlarged pores
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Dull complexion

The Microneedling Treatment Process

During microneedling, a pin is used to make micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. These injuries are safe and controlled, serving the purpose of stimulating your skin’s natural healing process. In response to the pinpricks, your skin will produce additional collagen, which provides greater strength and structure to the skin. Since collagen production steadily declines with age, the ability of microneedling to restore collagen can reverse signs of aging in the skin.

A solution of hyaluronic acid and vitamin C is spread over the surface of the skin before microneedling treatment. The microneedling pin then distributes the solution for excellent absorption and enhanced results. Vitamin C is brightening and provides protection against free radical damage, while hyaluronic acid provides powerful hydration to the skin.

Microneedling Results

The entire microneedling process takes just 15 to 30 minutes to complete. The skin will look brighter immediately after treatment, with the maximum results appearing in the following weeks. The results last for up to six months.

The number of microneedling sessions required to achieve the desired results depends on the degree of wrinkling, scarring, or discoloration. Some patients only need one treatment annually, while most people need two to three treatments spaced out by six to eight weeks. Deep wrinkles and scarring typically require six to eight sessions.
